9. AI scanner — photos and model training

Purpose When you use the DirectAlu AI scanner, an image analysis may be performed to suggest matching products or categories. Separately and optionally, if you tick the training consent checkbox, your photo may be stored to improve DirectAlu’s AI models (better recognition of products and accessories). Legal basis This processing is based on your explicit consent (GDPR Art. 6.1.a). Product analysis can run without training consent; refusing the optional checkbox does not prevent scanner use. Data concerned - The submitted image (normalized, without EXIF/GPS metadata used to identify you) - Technical submission metadata (date, upload/camera source, model suggestions, confidence scores) - A consent-withdrawal token We do not require identity documents or contact details for this training purpose. Retention - Photos pending human review: kept for validation, then accepted, rejected, or withdrawn - Accepted photos in the training dataset: kept as long as needed to improve and maintain the model, for a maximum of 24 months from collection, unless a legal obligation applies or data is permanently anonymized - If consent is withdrawn: image files (staging and dataset) are deleted; a technical record without the image may be retained for audit/proof Withdrawal and deletion You may withdraw consent at any time: 1. Keep the withdrawal code shown after submitting a photo with training consent 2. Use that code via the withdrawal mechanism provided, or contact us using the GDPR contact details 3. We then delete the related image files and mark the record as “consent withdrawn” Security Training photos are stored in a private area (not public), accessible only to authorized staff. This wording is subject to validation by DirectAlu’s GDPR officer before final publication. For the reference French wording, please also consult the FR version of this page.
